Jaime Bird, “Urban Dweller”
Urban Chronicles: The Faces & Spaces of the City
This two-person photography exhibition featured candid street portraits by Jaime Bird and deconstructed-abstract black and white panoramic cityscapes by Tim Fabian.
Pittsburgh street photographer Jaime Bird has widely exhibited her work, including in Mexico and Australia. She presented a series of candid portraits. From parades to protests, her work brought us a sidewalk scrapbook of life in the city.
Tim Fabian has a long and consequential history with the Pittsburgh art scene, both as a professional photographer and as a key player in several of Pittsburgh’s arts organizations. Tim says “as a photographer I strive to, as much as possible, exercise intent. My intent is to make photographs rather than to just take pictures”.
“Urban Chronicles: The Faces & Spaces of the City” opened on April 29, during Greensburg’s ArtsWalk. Both artists were present to meet the public and discuss their work.
